Brown Win May Affect State Budget

The governor's plans for plugging a significant part of the budget hole with federal dollars may have run into a roadblock with Scott Brown's upset win in Massachusetts yesterday. That's because the money she was counting on was in the now-endangered federal health care legislation. Last week, she said she hoped to know how much the state would receive by the time the president delivered his State of the Union address.

That now looks optimistic.
